I made my son endure embarrassment for the first time. During the school vacation, his school offers a day camp with lots of great activities. Today, they were going to the modern art museum to learn about the Eiffel Tower! So, we decided to take him there the first three days of the school vacation because he would have a lot more fun there than here with us paining, sawing, and constructing. They've been doing lots of activities involving Halloween, so I asked the teachers yesterday if the kids would dress up today. They said, sure, there were some who would probably wear their costumes.
In France, Halloween hasn't made it across the Atlantic full force, so I didn't want to send Gab to school in his costume if he were the only one. But, seeing that other kids would probably participate, I thought Gab would really like to wear his pumpkin today. Okay, I'm a bad, bad mommy because he was the only one! And, other kids were saying things to him like 'little pumpkin' or 'pumpkin head'. I felt so bad. Hopefully, the poor thing got through the day. On the other hand, I'm sure he is enjoying the attention it brings, if he doesn't mind being called "tête de citrouille!"
