One-Line Bio

Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?

Biography

Why the name? Because instead of "C'est la vie", or "That's life", this is the story of my life, here, on the other side of the Atlantic in a crazy mixed up world of expats, Frenchmen and women, and the everyday struggles and victories and eternal learning process of overcoming culture shock and remembering my own lost culture.

I'm an introverted extrovert (still trying to figure out how one can end up like this), 30 something mother of two small sucklings who is always questioning her ability to mother and feels that she should have gotten fired from this job a long time ago!, a newbie 6th and 7th grade teacher who is continually being taken advantage of by her students because of being too nice, an aspiring academic hoping to someday get past the soiled diapers and infinite cries of "mommy" to pursue a PhD in American literature, a lousy housewife with a very good will to try and try again, a mediocre knitter who hasn't gone past the patterns labeled 'easy' in the 4 years she's been knitting, a part-time foody (when I'm not frequenting the McDonald's literally at the bottom of our apartment building), a disorganized wife, and a lover of all things lavender colored. In another life, I would love to have tried on Virginia Woolf's shoes, just to see what it was like. Oh, and the word procrastination was invented the day I was born.
